Welcome to Restaurante El Trovador, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of L'Eixample, Valencia. This charming eatery, located at Carrer del Comte de Salvatierra, 34, is where culinary simplicity meets extraordinary flavor. As a food reviewer for Menustic, I am excited to introduce you to this vibrant locale that keeps locals coming back for more.
Your experience at El Trovador begins the moment you step inside. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual lunch or a more formal dinner. The friendly and efficient staff work seamlessly, as observed by patrons like Fang He, who praised the team for their incredible efficiency during peak hours. It’s clear that El Trovador is a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every meal is served with care and precision.
One of the major highlights here is the menu del día, a three-course offering at an astonishingly fair price of just €13. Dishes like the refreshing gazpacho, adorned with an array of toppings—including egg, cucumber, and peppers—serve as a delightful start. This is not just a meal; it’s a culinary experience, as captured by the enthusiasm of Cheryl Speer, who stumbled upon this beloved local haunt.
The main courses do not disappoint either. Dishes such as rice with crab, beef cheek, and grilled pork chops, were lauded by diners like Cryoshade, who also emphasized how the chocolate cake truly steals the show. Each plate showcases high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation, which makes dining here an unparalleled value for money.
El Trovador captures the essence of València not just in its menu but through the atmosphere it cultivates. Itchy Feet Foodies aptly described this place as a bustling cafeteria where locals flock for delicious meals and quick service. This lively environment, combined with the mouthwatering offerings, makes every visit feel like a celebration of Valencian culture.
In conclusion, Restaurante El Trovador is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary haven where traditional flavors are artfully presented. With such delightful dishes and a warm atmosphere, you'll understand why it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Simple but amazing redtaurant in Valencia. The food tasted great, staff was friendly and efficient. 3 course menu for a very fair price. Highly recommend going there when being around

I had lunch in this restaurant and sat near the kitchen. I was really impressed by the efficiency of the staff in the kitchen. During the peak hours, most of the tables were seated. Imagine the workload. But they definitely had an efficient and thoroughly implemented SOP. The whole team cooperated so well that not a single word was needed among them.

We just happened upon this place, and it was immediately apparent that it's popular with the locals. I'm glad we decided to wait for a table. The menu del día has numerous options and is only 13€. We both opted to start with the gazpacho, which was delicious. The server brought out a tray of condiments so we could choose what we wanted to go on top of it: egg, cucumber, tomato, peppers, etc. Both the chicken and merluza were delightful, and the sponge cake for dessert was a perfect finisher. Great find.

Very good! We had to choose from a set day menu, but there was plenty to choose from for an incredible value for money. We had the rice with crab, rice with beef, four cheese ravioli, (beef?) Cheek, and grilled pork chops. Everything was very good. But for sure, the star of meal was the chocolate cake at the end. Absolutely amazing. All this and a drink for €15 per person is probably the best valued meal I ever had. Staff was very friendly and quick as well.

4.5 - Best cafeteria we’ve found in Valencia. Great value menu del día with tasty food, very friendly service and a cool atmosphere. Most of the customers seemed to be people who work locally enjoying the fast service and tasty food.

Great locals place, food that tastes like homemade. Two-course meal + desert at an affordable price. The calamare rice was just on point. The veal was also on point and with that delicious grill taste. It's worth the stop if you're looking for good food with a good atmosphere. The staff was also very welcoming.

Unexpected lunchtime delight! Informal buzzy local vibe. Welcoming and helpful staff. Huuuge ‘chupito’ (?) sandwich of pork steak, bacon, cheese and egg. Great set menu. Variety, flavour and value.

Daily menu for 11.5 euros - a big starter (we had the salad and the pork rice), a main (mostly fried meat and veggies), dessert (depending on what they have available that day), a drink (I ordered a glass of wine and they left the whole bottle), and bread. We arrived there at around 4.30 in the afternoon and they still had some dishes available, which was great. The place is a very tranquil and economic alternative to other places nearby. Wholeheartedly recommend.
